Aloha, Parents! Welcome to a new school year at Le Jardin Academy! I hope that all of you are enjoying a wonderful summer vacation with your families. Before we know it, our children will be back at school, and we will be wondering where the summer went!
Our Parent Faculty Association (PFA) has a lot of exciting events and activities planned for the LJA ohana in the coming school year. Please join us on Friday, August 13th at the Lower and Middle School “Meet the Teacher Day” for a Welcome Brunch, which will be held in the courtyard behind the main Admin building. Parents from Junior School through High School are welcome to stop by. We will have great snacks and opportunities to sign up to get involved with various PFA activities. If you are unable to make the Welcome Brunch, you can also sign up to volunteer with the PFA at any of the New Parent Orientations in mid-August, or you can email us. We’d love to hear from you and encourage you to get involved!
We are planning lots of fun PFA activities for the coming school year, including the annual Holiday Greenery Sale, the Family Fun Run and the Moonlight in the Garden parents’ party. Parents are also invited to work on Teacher Appreciation, the Green Team and other activities which benefit our school and our children. Browse our PFA Events page for more ideas about volunteering. Each of these activities require the dedication of parents to make them happen. The PFA is so grateful for the valuable energy and time you all contribute!
Please save Sunday, August 29, from 11 A.M. till 3 P.M. on your calendars as the entire school gets together at Kalama Beach Club in Kailua (a new venue this year!) for the annual All-School Picnic. We will enjoy a potluck picnic, old fashioned games, bouncy houses, beach fun and more. This is a great way for all of our ohana to reconnect and forge new friendships as the school year begins.
Our website is one of the best ways for you to stay informed about current and upcoming PFA events, or to contact PFA board members. We welcome any suggestions you may have to help make it better.

Enjoy the rest of your summer, and we look forward to seeing you on campus in August!
Sincerely,
Liz Dietrich, PFA President 2010-11
